Easy Apple Name Craft for Preschool
If you’re planning an apple preschool theme, this simple apple paper name craft is a must-try! It’s one of those activities that feels playful for kids but sneaks in plenty of learning at the same time. As preschoolers cut, paste, and arrange the letters in their name, they’ll be practicing fine motor skills, letter recognition, and sequencing without it feeling like “work.”
This kind of hands-on craft is especially great for little learners who are just starting to connect letters with meaning, since seeing their name on an apple makes it instantly personal. With only a few supplies, you’ll have a meaningful project that works beautifully in the classroom or at home and doubles as a fun fall keepsake.

Why Name Crafts Are Great for Preschoolers
Name crafts are one of the simplest ways to combine creativity with meaningful learning. When preschoolers work on a name craft, they aren’t just making something cute to hang on the wall — they’re practicing skills that set the stage for reading and writing.
As kids build an apple name craft or other seasonal project, they get the chance to:
- Recognize and spell their names in a fun, hands-on way
- Strengthen fine motor skills by cutting, gluing, and arranging letters
- Connect letters to meaning, which makes alphabet learning more personal
- Boost confidence as they see their name displayed in a finished craft
This kind of activity turns abstract concepts like letters and sounds into something children can see, touch, and take pride in. Whether you use a printable apple craft template or create your own design, name crafts give preschoolers a chance to learn while creating something they love to show off.
Apple Paper Name Craft
This simple name craft for preschool is a fun way for young learners to practice spelling their names while celebrating an apple theme.
Supplies You’ll Need for This Apple Craft
- Apple name craft template
- Crayons or colored pencils
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Glue

Step-by-Step Instructions
Print out an apple template and a circle template. Instruct students to write one letter of their name in each circle. If they use a black marker or crayon, the letter will stand out.
Use safety scissors to cut out the circles from the circle template. Be sure you have one circle for each letter of the child’s name.

Instruct your child to color the apple, stem, and leaf. If they’d like, they can cut out the apple shape, keeping the stem and leaf intact.

Have your child glue the letter circles onto the top of the apple to spell their name. Before they glue them down, make sure the letters are in the correct order.

Once the glue is dry, your child’s name apple is ready to be displayed. Hang it on the wall, the refrigerator, or anywhere you want to show off their hard work!

This craft not only helps with name recognition but also reinforces fine motor skills and creativity. Enjoy the process and the personalized result!
