Learning to put events in order is an important skill for preschoolers to learn. When you add fun sequencing cards and activities to your lessons, you provide an opportunity for your preschoolers to hone this skill.

Preparing the Activities
To prepare this sequencing activity, print out the pages. Print and laminate page 3 – the control sheet. You can use this page to discuss the items needed to make an ice cream sundae and the steps involved in doing so.
Then, print out page 4 – the coloring page. Have children color the pictures of items needed to make an ice cream sundae. You could turn this into a visual-discrimination activity.
Cut apart the ingredient cards and turn them face-down. Have children turn them over one at a time and then search for the item on the coloring page.
Finally, print page 5. Have students color the sequencing pictures at the bottom of the page. Discuss what is happening in each one. Have students cut off those images and paste them in order at the top of the page.
