Materials

  • 1 apple
  • washable paint red, green, yellow
  • 1 paper plate
  • 1 white construction paper
  • paper towels for clean-up

Instructions

  • Cut the apples. Slice apples in half from top to bottom. Pat the cut side dry with a paper towel to help the paint stick.
  • Pour the paint. Add red, green, and yellow paint to small trays or paper plates.
  • Dip the apple. Press the cut side of the apple gently into the paint.
  • Stamp the paper. Press the painted side onto paper to make a print. Lift carefully to reveal the apple shape.
  • Repeat and explore. Continue stamping with different colors. Kids can mix colors, overlap prints, or add stems and leaves with a paintbrush or marker once dry.
  • Let dry. Set the finished art aside until completely dry before displaying.
