Materials

  • colored paper
  • glue stick
  • markers
  • stamp pads

Instructions

  • Trace the Tree Top: Start by taking a green construction paper. Fold it in half and on the folded side, draw a semi-circle to resemble the top of a tree. Once your child is happy with the shape, it’s time to cut along the line using safety scissors.
  • Prepare the Tree Trunk: Next, grab a brown construction paper. Draw a simple straight line for the trunk that starts wide at the bottom and narrows at the top. Help your child cut out the trunk using safety scissors.
  • Alternatively, you can choose to draw the tree trunk on white paper with a brown marker.
  • Glue the Tree Together: Now, it’s time to bring the tree to life! Take your glue stick and spread some glue on the back of the tree top. Glue it to the top of the tree trunk.
  • Fingerprint Apples: The exciting part is here! Open up your stamp pads and let your child dip their finger into their chosen color. Have them place their fingerprints randomly all over the green tree top to resemble apples. They can use one color or multiple colors for a vibrant apple tree.
  • Let it Dry: Finally, let the masterpiece dry. After a few minutes, your child’s Fingerprint Apple Tree is ready.
